Terios Aero From Australia

Post by Terios_Aero »

G'day everyone,

Im Miles from Sydney Australia, and I drive a 2001 Terios Aero:

Image

Terios, to me, is a small compact mini wanna be 4X4, that looks like any Nissan Patrol or Toyota Landcruise could run over in a flash.

But I did not care when I decided to buy my very own Terios Aero back in November 2001, that I traded in for a 1989 1.8 Nissan Pulsar Vector.

Image

I'll be honest when I say that the Terios does not have as much power as my old Pulsar, that had a 1.8L Engine, but Im very happy with the performace that the Daihatsu Terios does offer with their 1.3L Engine.

When I brought my Terios, it came with a 100,000k/3 Year warranty which I've only had to use once. Back in Feburary 2002 the Terios went into the workshop to get the left rear back shock replaced because it was leaking, since then, I have
not had an issue.

My Terios in Australia is a limited model and has been badged as "SX Aero", very different from its sister the "SX" as you can see here in the photo's below.

Image

The "SX Aero" comes with a Genuine Daihatsu Bodykit, sunroof, alloy wheels,
and sports trim for the inside.

These are the following mods that I've done to my Terios:

Lukey Sports Exhaust.
Stereo System; 12' Sub, 6x9 Speakers, JVC Deck and splits.
Changed Yellow indercators to Clear.
Added driving lights to the front bar.
Steel wheel cover on the rear.
Plently of stickers; Sydcruise.com and TeriosGroup.com

Glad to have found the 4x4 Forum, unfortunatly my Terios is not a true 4x4, but it does go well on sand.

I hope Terios owners are allowed here.

No probs Miles, welcome aboard.

Please excuse our pisstaking of the Terios but it's all tongue in cheek.

We do the same with Ferog's sense of direction.

Thanks for the welcome buddy, I noticed that some of you saw Daihard paying out on me big time a few months back, keeping what they said in mind, I hope you guys make your own judgement of me.

Dont mind you guys baggin out the Terios, im use to it, and I will admit, its not a true 4X4, but it sure does do well on Sand, hills, mud and other small jobs.

welcome terios. i've always said that as long as your happy with your vehicle then who gives a fark what anyone else thinks/says about your ride.

but i reckon once you get bitten by the 4wd bug you'll look for something more purpose built ie low range, clearance. Thats what happened to me. i started with an xtrail then bought a feroza. anyways welcome and have keep having fun with you daihatsu.

Hmmmm..... Daihard...... I have to wonder what some of those guys are thinking when they post!? :?

Someone posts a serious question and just copes a sh*tload of flack and get their car / ideas rubbished. Some new moderators could do wonders over there.

Anyway, welcome Miles. :D

Your not wrong there, I've already been thinking about getting something bigger and better so that I can have more fun off road, unless I get a lift kit for a Terios, and bigger wheels.

Get a feroza????
1. It´s Discontinued guys! Where the hell I´m gonna get spares for it!?!

2. I prefer to wait for the new terios... should be appearing on june 2004 or late 2004. GOD GOD please make Daihatsu people intelligent and make them to install the HI-LO Full Time 4WD system on terios and a wider body!!!!

3. If I had to choose, and Terios is not an option...I´ll choose ROCKY (feroza is the same but smaller, but I loved my 1993 Rocky!)
:D hehehehehe

Hehe I was thinking that exact same thing. I would have a lift, extractors, BIG tyres, flash spot lights and a snorkel
