I have always thought that this was a good option although you would have a certain amount of laps and an 8 hour cut off time.

CLEAN UP DAY OF THE TRACK This Saturday 23Jan09 8am

Everybody who is keen to help clean up the track that is in the photos, we would love your help. So if you have chainsaws or wipper snippers, please bring them along.

We will supply drinks and lunch.
If you could post up that you plan to come that would also be helpful.

Thanks Heaps.

There are 2 classes. For those running full bodied rigs you are competing with buggies but not against buggies because there are separate classes.

For the locals we recommend you run the course slowly first to make sure the rocks aren't too big. As previously stated, interstate people can just let us know what events you have been in and vehicle specs. You could probably do a slow lap the day before.

GUT42
I could be overlooking something but I think the race is pretty close to the original plan. That is, racing for a day over large rocks and step ups and seeing who can do the most laps. As close as practical to King of the Hammers. I would be happy to hear your opinion via pm because if you are thinking it, I am sure others are also.

Thanks for the pm mate, yes we have moved away from the winch challenge type stuff. This was never my plan but Brenden believed we wouldn't get enough interest from Rock Crawlers and Buggies. I hope we do get the interest otherwise it would be a one off event.

Once we clean it up and get some footage of vehicles driving the ledges everyone can make an informed decision on whether they will be capable enough to compete in this event.

I reckon pretty good, just don't try to keep up with me :D

In KOH your mates are in the pits so yes your mates can help in our race. Also, if you are one of the lucky few who will make the 8hrs and if you have limited Jerry cans, you might want a mate to do a fuel run for you.

Hi Tom

Don't worry about Flairs.

Shoot me a pm of your team name, vehicle specs etc and I will put you down. It won't be official though until the insurance company has fully signed off on the safety side of things.

I really like the sound of this race.
Pity I am a few thousand Kms away :)
Maybe next year I will have to get over east and try and and have a crack at TTC and this comp if it is up and running.

Do they still get to name the section of track as well, being the first one to drive it (i.e. unassisted) ???

Will be an awesome drive, hope I'm able to be there when it happens !!

Brenden has fine tuned the rules.
He has changed the track so there is no places where people have to cross the track and so spectators can drive to the other end of the park themselves to view the action.
One of the hard rock sections of the track will be driven for the first time this Saturday so we will find out some more info after this.
We are still taking names of teams that are interested but I presume some people are waiting for more track feedback.
