Hi there, I have the AMV CDL in my 2001 Disco2 V8. The Centre Diff Lock has remained locked after a quick jaunt in low range. I bypassed the CDL switch and I can hear the AMV motor running. Obviously there is power to the AMV CDL unit. Before I start ripping out the centre console it would be good to know if it is a fault in the AMV unit or the Landrover Centre Diff Lock. Anyone else had a similar problem?
Thanks.

Disco 2 : CDL won't disengage

Hi Garry, transmission wind up is not the problem. I went into limp home mode by removing the front prop shaft. I'm driving in 2WD at the moment.garrycol wrote:Is it simply that there is transmission windup so will not unlock - have you tried moving the control to the unlock position and driving backwards a little way to "unwind" the transmission.

My plan is to remove the centre console so that I can remove the AMV unit; then manually disengage the CDL and bolt in the front prop shaft; so it will be back to full time 4WD. I'll then see if I can get the AMV unit repaired or get another CDL that doesn't rely on electrical power.
