im after sum photos of snorkels fitted to 4 runners as i am fiting one to mine and am having a bit of trouble with room in the engine bay.heres sum photos to show u wat i mean.any tips would be great.

I'm not 100% certain but I believe that there is a notch molded into the snorkel around the aerial and your aerial should come straight up not have that 90 deg bend in it so i'd say thats an after market aerial.
So I'm going to say maybe you have the wrong snorkel for your particular model, just a thought.

one other option with regards to the aerial is to move the aerial and use the hole as one of the mounting holes for the snorkel

Personally i cant stand the look of straight pipe connected with rubber elbows wether it be stainless or not myself.
i think all snorkels look like shit no matter wat there made of! thats why i wont pay hundreds of dollars for one.im making mine out of pvc and all up its cost me $67 including paint.and if i hit something and it breaks it wont cost me bugger all to fix.im after pictures of 4 runner snorkels to guys not jackaroos and land cruisers.
Same concept applies, just the length & hole position changes to suit different vehicles.
Personally, the tigged one on the 80 lookd the best but would also be more expensive cause of the labour required to do it ....... wish I could tig weld

Here's mine, made up from 3" exhaust pipe, just bought a bit of straight and 3 mandrel bends.
Still cost me $200 in steel from the exhaust place (mandrel bends cost me $45 a U) and made it all up myself, so not exactly a cheap option.
sold the old safari snorkel for $100 so not bad upgrade for $100 and a weekend in the shed.
I thought the ariel was in the way and patched the hole and moved as it was always getting ripped off by tree branches anyway, in hindsight I should have just notched the snorkel around it as it wouldnt effect airflow much and would have been easy done.

saves starting a new thread. can anyone advise on what the best size custom snorkel would be for a 2.0 litre 3y petrol engine with a 32/36 weber on it, i was only thinking about 2'' exhaust with a couple of donaldson elbow bends. i wouldn't think that i would need much bigger.. but could be wrong
i can't use a aftermarket one cos i have a exo cage on her. any suggestions and comments much appreciated.

2" - 3.14" sq
3" - 7.07" sq
4" - 12.56" sq
Every inch of extra diameter gives heaps of extra area to allow better airflow.
