Snorkel for 97 KZJ90 Prado, Trans holding in 2nd

Post by nicinnz »

A friend of mine has bought a 1997 KZJ 90 SWB Prado, she needs a snorkel for it. There seems to be alot of confusion with suppliers over here as the air cleaner is on the passengers side of the engine compartment where as the majority of Prados have the air filter on the drivers side. Can anyone clear this up and perhaps recommend a brand and supplier of a snorkel for her truck.
Next question is that in low range the trans wont change up into 3rd unless you button of the accelerator is this normal for these vehicles? Any one know where to download an owners manual as this was a used Jap Import and the manuals are all in Japanese.
NH SWB Pajero 3.0L manual, rear locker, 265/75R16 KL71's, snorkel

hi there shes made a good choice,as for the snorkel my air box is on the same side(passenger),they are on the turbo diesel models, im prosumeing your freinds is diesel turbo too,TJM(airtrek) do a nice prado90 snorkel for the passenger side(fullyequiped4x4 in dunedin).in low range mine clicks into 3rd the same way so i think thats normal of them,i have to be doin a decent speed before it clicks and holds 3rd gear.
