Clicking sound..relay??

Post by RN »

I have had a problem with my window drivers window regulator and will have to replace it. I disconnected the power wires for the widow motor and have noticed a clicking sound coming from the back of the glove box. It sounds like relays clicking on and off.

I feel that the actions ( wire feed disconnection) may have exposed a loose wire that is earthing/shorting out as it only happens when the vehicle is in motion.

Anyone know what relays etc or electrical device is located behind the glovebox ? It went away for a while and has now returned.

My vehicle is not EFI just the 4.2 carby Mav

it would be the relay for the power windows , pretty sure the relay for the central locking is next to it aswell

I agree it's probably the relays, but just to cover all bases there are also self-resetting circuit breakers built into the electric window setup.

I would look there next if the relays turn out to be a dead end.
This is not legal advice.
