TB45 HEAD FLOW MORE THAN TB42'S?
TB45 HEAD FLOW MORE THAN TB42'S?
Some one told me the valves and the ports on the tb45 are larger than the tb42's. I was wondering what are the major differences between the two and if it's worth putting the tb45 head on my turbo tb42.
As munga said. The valves are the same size. Intake ports are slightly different as the injectors are closer to the head.
The TB45 head seems to flow better than the TB42. The intake manifold flows better also. The TB45 head takes a lot more to crack too!

The exhaust ports are the same size, a TB5 has much larger Intake ports and manifold, the manifolds are not interchangeable. The valves are the same size. The TB45 recieves all rocker oiling from the rear of the motor and the TB42 has oil ports front and rear.MUNGA GQ wrote:The ports are the same size, I would say the valves are the same size as well.
The intake manifolds flow better i was told, not so the head it self.
I would check combustion chamber size, there may be some small difference due to the engine capacity being different and the way compression is calculated.
