Buggy Day Out - 6 Feb - Brisbane - $500 Cash Prize

Post by Suspension Stuff »

Buggy Day Out - Beaudesert - Scenic Rim Adventure Park

For all those people who complain there is nowhere to drive their buggies, dust off the cob webs and get ready for some action. If you have a capable truggy feel free to enter.

Suspension Stuff and Scenic Rim Adventure Park are offering a $500 cash prize for the first driver to drive from start to finish (200-300m) without having to pull out a winch. This comp has a $50 entry fee. If you wish to camp and drive after the comp or next day, there is no extra charge. Let us know if you plan to camp so we can make sure there are spots available.

We will start at about 9am and keep going until it is driven or until you get sleepy (Not expecting it to run into the night though). This event is held on the same day as the Suspension Stuff Challenge so on arrival let them know at the office that you are entering the buggy comp.

This isn't a speed event but a crawling comp, it will not be timed. There are obsticles all the way up the track. There are multiple lines in every section except for one or 2 sections and you can take any line but be careful because if you get stuck you are out.

If after 3 decent attempts you can't make a climb you will be asked to reverse back to let everyone else have a go before you can attempt it again. Once everybody has had a go of an obsticle and if nobody has made it, each team will be given an opportunity to rock stack for 30 seconds and have another 3 attempts. You will be given 3 minutes in total to attempt each obsticle.

If you tip it on the side and you and your Nav can push it back over or pull it with a strap then fine but if you have to pull a winch out you are out of the comp and will be on drink duties or you are welcome to drive other parts of the Park. Please bring your helmets and gloves. This will be a relaxed fun event.

This track has never been driven. A few guys came out today and cut all the fallen trees away so it can be driven. A really big thank you to these guys. Some photos are in this thread on page 6 and 7, http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ftopic195619.php.

For spectators, it is $5 if you park out the front or $35 per vehicle.

The starting order will be the order that people tell me they want to enter. (Unless you are late)

For those that think they will drive it on the first attempt then be first to post up that you are interested and it is a certain $500 for you.

Let us know if you are keen.

Shane.

sounds great, I know you said that it hasnt been driven, but what if it is driving the first time out. Alittle unfair on the others as they werent given a chance for a shot at the apples.

I am really, really not expecting that to happen. I would be happy to show you or some other buggy capability representative the tracks to put your mind at ease.

Aww come on...

We coulda had so much fun going back and forth  There was still Wednesday, Tuesday and Monday to go.

Knowing Ballsy, the friggin thing probably still has stock Yota CVs and axels in it, so no one would be driving it past the first rock.

Hurts way less when they roll when you are standing 10 metres away saying, 'I said turn left  '

But if your shitter is available for abuse and has Longfield 30/30s in it then i'll whack my Treps on it for the weekend and have a crack.

STARTING ORDER
1. Rhett and mate
3. Dave

So, not as many buggy people as I thought. It is going to be a fun day even if we do only get 3 turn up however if we keep only getting 2 or 3 buggies/Truggies to comps I can't see it lasting in the long term so please phone your mates to see if they are interested.

Cheers
Shane

Excellent, I know you haven't been wheeling lately because I have your tyre/wheel at my shop.

STARTING ORDER
1. Rhett and mate
3. Dave
4. Spider Man - Mitch

I don't think it is the type of track where I would expect roll overs however once the comp is over there are some really hard lines I would love to see some buggies try.

If we find that we have time we could do a 2nd stage doing the same track but harder lines. Prize would be a Tigerz11 compressor. Tigerz11 have kindly done some great deals to support the comp.

A couple of problems there Shane.
Its a farken long drive for me, and I suck at using video cam

If I was a few hours closer I would come and check this out. I would love to see some footage, and I was thinking it would help with promo of your enduro event if people can see parts of these as yet undriven tracks get driven.

Ok, I miss understood. Hopefully someone will get some footage.

I will talk to Brenden but I will give it another couple of days but I think we will open this up to the Outlaw class also.

If i were you i would open it up to anyone that would enter the Endurance race. At least then you will have some idea on wether you are wasting your time spending all this money promoting a race you dont even know you will be able to pull off.

This sounds like it is going to be the hardest section of the enduro. Would be a great time to see if people can actually drive it.

New creek all together,we only started clearing this part of the track last saturday the 23rd.

I can't see anyone actualy driving this section without lots of rock stacking and a winch unless they take the real easy lines, but then whats the point.

In a fun social drive not a lot of point to it, BUT in a comp sense and especially one offering money or in the case of the enduro where quick laps are what is needed a hell of a lot. Cant say I have seen to many guys take the hardest lines possible during a comp :?
