Just wondering if anyone here has heard of or had any experience with thomas electric winchs. Been offered one at a pretty good price ($500 ono for 8000lbs low mount)

I have one the same on my 45 which seem's to work fine but have not been in really tough going yet. I bought it off the local ses (rescue truck) and they were happy with the way it worked. I paid $500 for it.

they're pretty trashy as far as winches go but the price is right - go for it. the 8000 lb rating is optimistic and if you stall it the motor will burn out in next to no time.

I got a thomas 8000 low mount as well for $500 it works allright but is really slow

Went and had a look, the guy was a time waster. Winch was bit gruby, but looked okay. Went to test it, didn't work, had a quick check, still no workie. The guy even said that he wouldn't drop his price more than a hundred dollars for the non working winch.wouldn't have paid over $400for it if it wokred perfect. What a waste of diesel to drive there.
so if anyone has a cheap winch, feel free to PM me :lol: .
