3rz fuel pump trigger? please help

Post by YN67highlux »

doing wiring in the hilux after 3rz conversion. going by this cheat sheet (http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/ftopic162017.php) i need c14 green and yellow for fuel pump trigger but its not working? every thing else is kicking inn fine, there is another green and yellow wire but its in one of the other plugs that is coming on when acc is on should i use this?. anyone else had any dramas with them? and does it even matter what acc power they are pluuged into? i am lead to belive that there is a pressure switch i on pump that tells it to start and stop? so i could just wire it to acc yea?
im using the fuel pump out of the 2000 2wd hilux that the engine came from in my tank.
thanks for your help

yes its the one that comes from steering column, goes to stock ecu location and then down drivers side and to fuel tank

that wire is a trigger wire though, it needs to be wired into the fuelpump relay

sorry mate
bit more info
its a yn67hilux was 4y
there is no computer and didnt have fuel pump beforehand. i got ahold of an 2000 model 2wd hilux fuel tank with my conversion, pulled the pump out and put it in my original tank. have everything wired up already, all relays are kicking in and working but fuelpump is not getting triggered on when trying to start it. just wondering has the pump got a pressure switch to turn itself on and off? if it does then i should be able to just wire it to any acc wire and it can kick in and out wheneva it wants. if not why isnt the trigger working?
thankyou for your time

the output from the ecu, is a negative trigger, so u need to wire ur relay up so the ecu switchs the earth on the relay

ok so. can i use a standard 4 post relay or do i need a relay that has a negative trigger? can u please tell me what goes where there is a few things that dont add up...
do i just hook trigger to direct power plus + power + 1 to pump and have the earth hooked up to the trigger in ecu?
and when trying to find the witch wire is power from pump i found out that only 1 wire needs to be hooked up to 12v to work. is the other just an earth?

off subject
+ ill try to explain what its doing best i can and see if u guys can point me in the right direction as to whats goin on as its doing my head in..
at first there was no spark getting to plug number 1 whilst winding over car until i when u turn key to off position and it would throw 1 spark.
then when my mate came over we primmed up fuel manually and nothing happened, he didnt believe me about spark as it was there last nite. he earthed the lead out on the lifting hook and the thing ran...??? and it wasnt missing it sounded fine. we put plug back lead in and nothing,, then pulled it back out and no spark at all. we put it back in and it ran now its doing the same thing it only throws 1 spark when u stop winding it and are turning it to off position. something is going haywire somewhere any ideas???
we wernt doing anything different either of the times but something different was happening everytime we tryed to start it witch is making it really hard to diagnose please help
