i had a 4y in my first lux and when my girlfriend rolled it i could only find a diesel cab with diesel wiring.
so basically i went from diesel to 4y and the hardest part was the wiring.you might have to change a few little things like master cyl, brake booster.

see how it goes first before you swap it though as i cant remember whether you have to change it from diesel to petty or from petty to diesel if you get me?

you shouldnt have to change engine mounts but i think your bellhousing, clutch and box might be different(someone correct me if im wrong) if thats the case try to get the motor and box.

tank might need changing but i have heard of people just flushing out the petrol and keeping all the petty lines and tank.

depending on what tyres you have you might want to change your diff ratios, diesels came out with 4.3's.i run 4.3s in my petty because i think they are better on road with 35s on.

the petrol box will have different ratios and the starter motor is on the opposite side of the bellhousing to the diesel. If you are going to use your petrol gearbox you just need to get a diesel bellhousing and bolt it up.

I have a box originally from behind a 4y in my 2.8 lux. With 33s on when i am really doing 60km/h the speedo reads 45 to give you an idea of the different ratios.

hey mate,
i have recently changed mine from a 3y petty to a 2.4 that i turboed.
Have to change the bellhousings, master cylinder, all the wiring, the dash, you will need everything from the diesel (glow plug timing relay, starter relay, brake booster reservoir, and also the 2L has no power steering so that has to be changed and the 4y powersteering pump doesnt fit so you have to get one off a 3L.
Also have to change the engine mounts.
Cheers

the diesel are 4.56 ratios and the petty is 4.88 ratios.
You have to swap all the fuel lines.
You need the diesel radiator.
Took me 5 days to do the conversion.
