I thought he said GU Ute driveline?
It should all bolt straight in, aslong as they have the same tranny case.
Also the radiators do differ as i have just found out.
My plastic header has a mini hole in it, and all the radiator shops are scratching there heads saying "Never seen one like yours"
mine is a 2005 ute 4.2 TDi. and the radiator is only 590mm wide, but very deep.
all spare parts like header tanks etc they have in the books are the wide ones, 900mm or something.
my brotheres 99 GU has the wide radiator. even my mounts for the radiator are different, so some sheetmetal work is required to change them over (ive been considering it)

Might pay to ring some one who can blue plate the change and find out but the impression I got but was hoping different is that the new motor has to be same age or newer than the one you are replacing.
Sucks being that the same motor 4.2 diesel has been available since 88 in the patrols and has lasted since after the 4.5 petrol.

Just thought about not allowing to have a motor older than the build date of the vehicle. It must be aloud because i have been seeing 5L holden motors being put into GU's everywhere. Just a thought.
Correct me if im wrong.

04 GU Wagon 3L TD. 33's, 3" flexy coil lift. Kicker stereo, LOUD
GQ TD4.2 Extra Cab, 6" Flexy coil lift, Pro comps, 3rd's upper and lowers, 37 boggers. Plenty more to come.
