wiring up tacho for td42
I am doing a conversion from a tb42 to a td42 and need to know how to hook up the tacho i have the sender in the timing cover and the dash cluster out of the diesel will my old wiring work or is it a different set up cheers
TD42 tacho is driven by the glow plug controller.
Not sure what model TB42 you have but I suspect a carby one would have the tacho driven off the coil (which would not be compatible - too many pulses) and if you had the EFI one it may be driven off the computer or the coil. You would need to have a look at the wiring diagrams. Either way you may need to swap over the tacho to a TD42 one or have an instrument bloke modify it if need be.
