Removing head bolts to fit bracket
Hi all i am changing engines at the movent and the alt, ac, ect on the old engine bracket is bolted with two head bolts, would it be worth unbolting the two head bolts and then touque them back down or would it be better to make a new one.

For initial torque down this is true. I don't think it's going to worry it to remove 2 bolts and retorque to spec. The 2F cruiser motor is similar in that the air cleaner bracket is retained by 2 head bolts. I have removed and refitted as above with no dramas. Either way, if you solve your problem without removing them easily enough then don't.LuxyBoy wrote:Head bolts are meant to be done in a specific sequence; if you are going to remove two you should remove ALL and then re-torque the whole head in sequence to factory spec.
Never over tighten a head bolt, a torque to yeild bolt will loose massive amounts of clamping force if tightend beyond specification.
