Backyard boggings

Due to the winds the last light I was forced tonight to restore my back fence to a vertical position, so took the Patrol round the back for some 4wd action, turned around and backed up to the fence, wrapped some rope round the fence & tow point. I then unleashed the beast at idle in low with the hubs unlocked, tied the fence to the big palm and propped it with some 4x2 in the other direction. Mission accomplished

So I went to drive out, needed to back up to the fence again to get out (about a cars width further across), ohh that didn't feel good as a back wheel went straight down to the axle, got out, decided to lock the hubs, let out the clutch, hmmm not going anywhere, try backwards, nup.
OK time to use my normal mud technique, give it some, front drops horribly, back & forth a couple of times, no go

Ring up mate and have dinner whilst I wait for him, checked out the ground a bit better and noticed it had that floaty spongy effect around that area. I dig the front of the wheels clear, mates turn up an the Ox winch has me out and in no time we're drinking beer in the garage

I just drove through a big puddle yesterday a few times to clean the underbody too

You don't have to go to cruiser park to have fun in the mud

HA HA my mate has been bogged in his sewage overflow same thing straight down to his axles.

That's why I've been parking in the street every time it rains - my friends and neighbours would die laughing if I bogged myself in the back yard.

One of my mates has already warned me to be ready - he's had earthworks done just before those storms, and he's afraid all that mud may be too much temptation for his 'Cruiser. Wouldn't be the first time I've pulled him out

Another sorta backyard bogging story

my mates parents had there caravan towed home last year for some repairs. The guy turned up in a surf and tried to reverse up there backyard with the van on the large trailer (van wheel bearings seized from lack of use). proceded to get bogged and then roll van, into clothes line , which just held it up. Had to get 2 trucks to hold van stationary and winch surf free. then get van off trailer. mission when ya get home from town after ya 21st only 3 hours ago

wasn't the reason old mate got stuck cos his back wheels weren't touching the ground cos the van had the trailor tipping up? hehe

yep thats the one. Quality work that. that and i dont think he thought to put it in 4wd too. were you there when we had to tie the van to the basketball hoop post to try to get it off??
