hi all,
the brother and i are fitting his 3.9 litre into an early range rover and need to buy an in line fuel pump, does anyone know the pressure we need or even a good pump thats proven itself.

Hey mate just to let you know that I had a 3.9 and the pump failed. Was going to cost $400+ for a new one but instead I used a vl commodore pump which was worth $80. Worked great! Probably wont help you tho as you're looking for an inline one but it might be easier to find specs on a vl commodore pump rather than a disco. Hope this is helpful.

You want a Bosch 070 fuel pump (full part number 0 580 464 070) - generic replacement for a crapload of cars. Available on Ebay, or just go into a Bursons... Should be able to get a brand new genuine bosch one for $150 or under, depending on contacts.4.42doormangierangie wrote:hi all,

Ideally you should run a surge tank/swirl pot to feed this pump, but my secondhand pump has been sucking straight out of the main tank for 4 years and I'm still wating for it to die Some people have had them last only a few weeks without a surge tank though.

Thats how I've setup my project (not running yet). Low pressure pump from fuel tank to swirl pot with a return line. Like Nottie says, pretty much in high pressure pump will suffice, as its the regulator that governs pressure
What tank are you useing, you'll be needing a lift pump and surge tank/swirl pot to make it work proper like
