Roo Lite Driving Lights?

I hav2 2 sets of the same lights you are discribing. They have been great. When you buy the set one will be a long range spot light and the other a spreader.

Good value for money. Holding up well in the bush.

I have both sets on my roof as I brought a set of lightforce 240s and than 2-3 months later was offered a set of the roo light 220s for a price a could not say no too. I can switch off or on either sets on my roof and can't really see a difference in them except maybe and it is a big maybe the lightforce may go a little further in distance but it would be so little that I really can't say for sure.

I think for the money the roo lights are a really good lights and as most others on here have said are very strong. The difference in the reflector is the light force are a polycarbonite lense and the roo lights are aluminium.

The reflectors on a roo light will bend/dint and if they break on a lightforce they crack right through to inside. I have had issues with light force in the past with warrenty claims and even went as far once to refuse me a claim on a light that was only 1 month old. As for warrenty with roo lights not sure never had to send one back yet.

about to buy a set of 240 roo lites . cheapest i can get them for is $275 i have been shopping around yet to buy them stil shopping

I have HID lights now, and have the old globes, they were used about 4 times since new. if you want them you can have them for $20

Now upgrading to a 80watt hid kit.

I have converted my super oscars to 55w HID for $255, kit off ebay from Predator - unbelievable difference - was running 85/140halogen, big wiring, but the HID are so much brighter. Kit was complete, rang the guy and very helpful. Very happy with the conversion

Made a mistake! Halogens were 100w in the Oscars, 80/140 in the headlights

Most kits have instructions. i have done it with a 55w hid kit.
check out on4tou.com.au they have kits available. and a relatively easy to fit.

Ok, my opinion on the wiring harness still remains. But as far as light quality and keeping adjustment they are shit. Wouldn't have another set ever. I have tightened up the mounts as tight as I can get them without busting the plastic bracket and they still fall down on bumpy roads. Light output is not that great either I have found.... I was considering a HID upgrade but if they wont hold position whats the point?

Just installed a 70watt HID kit into my Roo lite 220XP's unbelievably bright! I have a 100w hunting spotlight and it doesnt come close, might HID the spotty now, lol

Had 55w HID's in them and they were great too. definately worth it.

I have pics if anyone want to see how good they are, also have a comparison between 55w and 70w

They are for sale on ebay now, very cheap but great quality. $220.00

I used the H3 kit, and they must be fitted in a surround also supplied on ebay under "roo lites"

The only company i know of selling 70w fitted lights now is KC lights U.S.A for around $1000 a light! do it yourself its worth it!

As an interim I fitted 2 x 150W sealed beam driving lights - kind of look like aircraft landing lights but at 7" diameter. They work as long range as well as pencil beam. Cheap but effective until I can justify Light Force or Roo Lites.

I purchased a set of 55W HID - H1 Lighting kit that I have now fitted into my driving lights the kit cost around $100 from ebay.

I did an experiment by installing just one then comparing either light - WoW was my response, not only did the HID light give a very powerful spot it also give a much brighter spreed, installed the 2nd light ASAP!
Tested them out on Fraser in January - the difference was amassing.

hi we I do the kits for the roo lites from 35w to 100w hids the 70w HID cost about $270 for the full kit this is with a true 70w globe and ballast
If you need any help just give me a ring

The only company i know of selling 70w fitted lights now is KC lights U.S.A for around $1000 a light! do it yourself its worth it

i have just had some of these in for repair and when i pull them apart i found that that they run a 35w Phillips D1S GLOBE have them on the test bench to test how many amp they pull will let you know

Really. I just bought a 70W kit off ebay, and they are definately brighter than the 55w kit, but not sure if they are true 70W

May upgrade to the 100w kit down the track though. brighter is always better! is the 100W kit true 100W both ballast and Globe?

our 70w kits draw about 5.6 amps each @ 13.2v and the globes are a bit bigger then the 55w
the 100w kit we have is in 24 v and uses about 4.2 amps and yes the globes are that much bigger again ie when we have fitted them to ralley 4000 we have to machine the globe holder out
