is that the hard stages????

hmm...maybe i wont bother about fixinng the lockers in my buggy then

so where are the bits that you are expecting me to winch??

but an actual serious question....have you Shane or Brendan even seen the terrain that a buggy is capable of driving..not talking about a truck like Bretts but a full on buggy...mine is a sh!tter and i seriously cant see too much that would concern me enough to want to put a winch on my car..let alone some of the better buggies or rigs that would be out there..from the pics that whole track looks driveable for my car...like i say that is from the pics and i fully plan on coming out and driving the track in the next few weeks when i can get a spare day..
i will also try and talk someone into bringing the scrapper out..that is a capable buggy that would seriously eat everything imo

dave
sorry i couldnt make it.
i did everything i could but still didnt have my car ready to drive.
sounds like i missed a good day out.

Who ended up taking the $500 and driving the track??

lets see some pics
Michael, you are going to love attempting to drive this track. The buggies found it difficult, some of them had 2 guys on straps trying to help them up a climb.

Mitch in the Spiderman Patrol/Zook. He started 3rd and finished 1st. He was running sticky tyres, they really did hook up on the rocks.

We started at about 10am and finished at about 4pm to run about 400m.(Hard to say how far it is) I think if we ran the track again with only 1 vehicle so no waiting for others then the track could be done in about an hour as long there were no breakages and no getting stuck.

I don't think Dave would have made it though because his lack of clearance. (He won't be able to defend himself till he gets back from Fraser :finger: :D ) We will find out soon enough because I want to organise another day out in the next few weeks. No prizes though, just wheeling for fun.

The bit right at the end that is off camber wasn't driven because some fallen trees were on the track, I look forward to seeing someone drive that climb.

There is another spot I want to see driven also.

Shane

Shane i actually called in for a look just as Mitch had parked at the top. Couldn't find you and have never met Brendon so had no idea who i was looking for. What is stopping them from driving up the creek further and comming out on Tour Drive 1 i think it was? The next track above where they finished? I never walked up or down any further than the last under cut ledge.

Well Ive just got back to gympie after being down there for the weekend. three of the five of us got to the end without winching mitch, rodger and myself and Justin only winched backwards to extract himself from a rock and hard place before diving the rest of the way. Its a fun gully, good for a social drive. Mitch done great to get a non rear steer up there and deserved the cash. I got held up in the middle and lost my lead when I busted a gear on the counter shaft i the transfer at about the half way mark, luckly had a spare. I got to thank dougster for giving me a lift back to my ute and being a stand up navi till I caught up with the others. I got a few pictures but I think bad line benny ended up with my camera in his pocket.
Its a wheelbase thing

Just guessing, as Tour Drive 1 is along the fence line that might be how spectators can get round without having a crossing somewhere across the track, which is a better idea.

Was a great day out with some top drives and not as many breakages as I expected
I'll navi for ya anytime Rhett ;)
Shame no one grabbed a pic of Brett standing it straight up on the rears during one of the bottom 1/2 step-ups

Bring on the pics !!!

Thanks everyone who turned up. Had an awsome day out with a great group of people. Track was good fun, and definately has some cool lines. Bit thanks to my old boy for getting me through. He definately gave it all he had, and was absolutely exhausted by the end  .

Have to get out there and have a wheel with everyone again soon :D .

A few pics we got too.
Cheers Mitch

I have written a long post twice now and the forum stops working on me. :bad-words:

I must have just missed you, I was there for about 15 minutes before I started the long trek back to the start of the track to pick up the car.

There are a few potential good buggy spots in this area. There is a track just to the right of where Mitch was facing that gets harder as you go along. I have walked half of it and it needs a chainsaw but Brenden says it gets very hard further up.
