trouble with spotties
im trying to hook up a set of narva spotties to my suzi. its a 92 model. ive followed a digram from the net but im having trouble with turning them off. they are always getting power even when the accessories are off. the only time that they turn off is when low beam is on. ive got it running through a relay. any ideas. have i got it wired wrong somewhere. ive followed the diagram from this website http://www.hilux4x4.co.za/wire_spotlights/index.php
Yes. Your headlights are negative switched, and you have wired your spotlights for positive switched headlights.mccoy112 wrote:just to the chassis. does it need to connected to the normal lights earth wire
The diagram in your link is universal - it will work for either configuration of headlights, but only if you follow it EXACTLY.
Yup as scott says, youre lights are negatively switched, ie they get constant feed from positive side of battery, and the headlight switch earths them, completing the circuit and turning them on. You will have to tap into both wires, not one wire and earth, and for cryin out loud, dont use scotch locks.
