front diff housing/axle rebuilding.

I have the front axle/diff housing removed from my 40 series and am doing a shackle reversal, as it is sprung over and want to put 60 series diffs under it as well and increase the wheelbase at the same time..
anyway after I do the cut and rotate and fab the new spring perches I am not confident of rebuilding the housing as I am not that good mechanically wise (removing everything to start with was easier than I thought)and have been given a qoute of $700 to do the job...is this a reasonable price to rebuild an already bare housing?...I give em all the bits and pieces and they put it all back together with all new seals gaskets bearings......
As I am a fabricator/welder with 20 years in the trade I was also thinking maybe someone needs some welding done in exchange for rebuilding my diff...???

i recon youd be able to put it back together. if you pulled it apart, and have all the bits. get a workshop manual, they will fill in the gaps.

In my opinion 700 is far too much to just put a front diff back together. its not that hard. after buying all the seals and new complete bearing kit for your hubs, you will end up with a spare 500 or so dollars.

mate thats way too much money for that . $250 i done the last one for ,same deal as yours ,u supply parts .done it in a day and fitted air lockers to the centres with bearins [mates rates ]for extra $120.

if you were to pay that much you might aswell get ARB to do it and put a locker in at the same time.
