bash plates for under carriage prtection

i have got a nissan GQ ST 1988
and i found theres no bash plats for under neath,

like i can get a hold of 5mm steel plating from work but im not sure as to where they should be put under neath the nissan
just a basic idea would be good

behind the transmission crossmember, run it as far back as you can (notch out for tailshaft)
