TR Magna head

Post by constapa »

Hi all,
I 've decided to change my moded intake manifold and head to a standard Mitsi 4G54. I see that many people use the TR Magna head and manifold. My question is this: Only the head and intake plenum is it ok or i need all the stuff (cams etc.). I don't know if my cylinder head's internals are interchangeable with the specific TR Magna head.

Thanks

Ok, sorry for this... :?
I have a carby head moded for EFI. Works well but it's a mod -i want something better, an original EFI head. I wonder if the cam etc. of the carby head fit exactly in the TR Magna head or i have to buy a TR head with everything on. I hope i made things clear. Thanks for the reply anyway...

You'd need to check valve sizes, and somewhere along the line the Magna went to roller rockers, which require a different cam. The Magna is also FWD, and has a pulley driven off the rear end of the camshaft. No show stoppers.

I used a magna head on my efi set up. just cut the end of the cam off and it was definatly roller rockers and hyd lifters, (most of the early heads had adjustable valves)
