1Hz running warm

Hi all,

im new to the forum and have joined as im having problems with my LC 105 series running warm,we have replaced the radiator,thermostat,hoses,viscous,water pump and the bloody thing is still running at 3 quarters on the guage.

she is not blowing any smoke at all,i have had a test for exhaust gases in the coolant,have had a pressure test done on the coolaing system and they both came up all good.

it started after i busted both radiator belts,she got warm but not for very long at all,i can idle all day or run at low speeds and no problems,once i go over 100kmh the needle slowly comes up.it has only boiled once and that was after i turned the car off

im at a loss as to what to look at next

Has the engine been turbo'd? or still standard?

have you tested the opening temp of the thermostat by boiling it on the stove before installing it?

Have you tested the function of the temp gauge?

have you checked the coolant temperature in degrees C or just going of the factory gauge?

Brand new toyota thermostat,at 3/4 the temp of top hose is 96c,the motor is still standard...

What's on the front of your car? ie: winch, lights (bad air flow). Heavy load? Trailer?

Brand new toyota thermostat,at 3/4 the temp of top hose is 96c,the motor is still standard...

it may be a good idea to test the thermostat even though it is new.
boil it on the stove and watch the temperature that it opens at. it should start to open at 74-78deg, it should have opened 10mm or more at 90deg.

also check that it was installed the right way up, with the little jiggle valve at the top to help allow air to escape from the system.

Nah mate,no winch,have taken the cover plate off the winch recess and taken the spotlights off as well,makes no difference

sounds like a cracked head to me, soon as it works hard it opens up and blows exhaust gas onto the coolant. so be fine going easy but under load warms up.

sounds like mine at 110 it will warm up a bit more then half if going up a hill she starts to get a bit hot but at 100 its sweet sits on half where ever you should just go 100 haha

yep thats what mine did
does yours pump out coolant into the over flow bottle??
they do this when the combustion gas enters the water system
