if i do an (SOA) conversion for my 40 series swb will this give me and more flex or will it only make the car sit higher gaining more clearence?

nice flex, well may be i just liked the look of the guys that had a flipped spring may be i dont need it? i defantly dont want 6" lift may be 3" would be sweet tho.. another thing the shocks are stock ha ha so there 30 years old... XD is that why the ride is bumy or is it because it is on leaf springs?

problem with a fj40 is usually the billion leaves they had stock.
flatter springs will work better. but then you will need a track/ladder bar at the rear to prevent major dramas.
if you go SPOA you get lift and the chance to flex more.
but you also start needing to extend brake lines.-potentially.
rotating your front diff to keep the steering close to stock..
just a big can of worms.
but they look sweet SPOA...

i think i am going to have a crack at it< so i have to get the springs flatended out new shocks new brake lines new speedo cable and maybe ajust the steering?
again the smae question before my 40 is a bumpy ride at the moment, is this because of the old shocks or is that just leafs for you?

ya i am still in qld.... so you reckon i will atract to much attention?
ok... so if i am all out of luck there. what about....
if i re-tention my springs?will that give me may be 2" lift witch wont draw to much attention to the truck?
QLd laws are bloody stupid, i vote that all 4x4 should be able to have what ever crazy mods they can think up

thats a sweet truck mat, what have you done to your rig to get it up to that sort of ability? thats some pretty sweet flex for SUA, what mods have you done?shorty_f0rty wrote:gold! You will definatley get noticed with a spring over. I reckon it would be defected within a month if you drove it reguarly.

As others have mentioned above, definetley dont go SPOA in QLD. Your way better off setting it up sprung under, and if done right you'll get just as much travel with a lot more stability.......Mines done using custom leaf packs from Dobinsons Springs in Rocky with relocated spring hangers, custom shock mounts, 12" travel bilsteins, and 2" extended shackles. Rides greats, sets lowish (bout 4" lift), and flex's awesome.
