It was a rather disappointing turn out after the good show late last year. The steering committee had met previously and were preparing a recommendation that ORCA commence down the path of becoming an incorporated association. However, further information had just been received from the CCDA and whilst there were a good number of questions arising about the structure of CCDA and the current lack of provision in the rules for the competitions held in SE Qld, the indicated flexibility of CCDA to adapt and incorporate changes warranted further investigation of aligning with CCDA.

From memory, the steering committee are due to meet again tonight (24/2/04) to discuss the CCDA structure, constitution and rules in order to report back to interested parties at the next ORCA meeting on 10/3/04 (I think).

I planned on going, but club commitments forced me to be absent. It would be benficial to have one governing body, with membership required from the governing body, not state based, in order for people from interstate to compete in interstate comps, and be covered and admissable as a CCDA sanctioned driver.
Built, not bought.

well i have sent off a membership form for ccda...they are up and running and have rules already out and several events sanctioned.
i hope ORCA adopts the same rules as CCDA to simplyfy the mods onmy truck....dont really care all that much what the rules are as long as they are the same for all similar events

Hi, Just a quick note to let everyone know that ORCA is on the way to become "Off Road Competitors Assocation Inc." The committe had a another meeting last night to get paperwork under way. One of ORCAs aims is to be part of a National Body with equal representation from all states. There is still a lot of work to do and we will need support along the way.
Your committe is made up of:-

President:- Mandy Calcino
Secretary:- Lance Gillies
Treasure:- Kym Bolton
Membership / Insurance Officer:- David Metcalfe
Tech Officers:- Sean Calcino, Peter Forsyth & Rob Clark

We will advise everyone when the Inc. paper work is completed and a general meeting will be called untill then if you have any questions please contact one of your committe members.

The NSW competition guys & gals met on Sunday 14 March and agreed to take full advantage of CCDA. They are fully in support of the CCDA as:

A global body, not constrained by political or territorial boundaries, with equitable representation from functional groups representing 4WD competition events and roles along with regional groups representing the peculiar issues of their locality

Check out their meeting notes and read Norm Needham's introduction at http://CCDA.4wd.org.au

The NSW chapter of the CCDA has been kicked off with the following key players:

Chairman: Dean Kilmurray
Secretary: Shane Barlow
Registrar: Det Voges
Events/Promotions: Celia Barry

Rules committee delegates are yet to be appointed.
