Question about Wheel Bearings?

Post by leigh 2 »

Hey guys just wanted to ask a question about Wheel Bearings on a GQ Nissan Patrol. Iam only getting 12 months outta them, Please tell me thats not right. Roughly how long would you get out of wheel bearings? If some one could help with some info on this it would be appreciated!

Cheers leigh!

are you torquing them up right? are you making sure the lock tab is securing the nuts properly?

also when you fit new bearings, you need to re torque them after 500 kays

GQ wheel bearing lock nuts and tabs suck ass.

All it takes is for the nuts and bearings to come loose once and then they always work their way loose.

Get the GU lock washers with the keyed ring and bolt setup.

Failing that.... GU front diff swap :D

Just go and buy these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Nissan-GQ-Patrol ... 2c512b8b31, or go to you local wreckers and find a late model GQ or a GU wreak and grab them.

i doubt tyre offset is the issue.

the arctic trucks running 44's and offset rims get around 20,000 out of a set of bearings.
