HZJ75 tail shaft

Post by Bretty23 »

Hey all,
I have a HZJ75 ute I have just put in 2' extended shackles and already had 2' raised springs already fitted. I am having problems with the rear tail shaft fitting back in. It seems now that the rear shaft is too long when the suspension is at full flex. The tail shaft bottoms out in the slip splines and limits suspension travel. The only thing I could think of to fix this is to shorten the shaft. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it.

Cheers

im trying to understand how the rear pinion-output length gets shorter when you have raised it.

Is the tailshaft of standard length?

The diff should move a bit closer when a wheel is stuffed up under the tray but with extended springs and shackles the diff should also move away from the output as the spring flattens out.

Are your rear leaf springs in back to front?
