2 inch lift in hilux
hey guys just wondering from people who have put in 2 inch body lifts on their lux if this has made there car unstable while driving. i already have a 2 inch suspension lift and want to know if my car will be to unstable if i put in a body lift aswell
cheers
cheers
2inch body lift, std springs and 35's, so you've given it effectively 5inchs of lift with stiff springs and its stable?.
Granted, it isn't huge lift although the hilux is far from stable in standard form little own adding more lift etc without softening/improving other aspects.
Pulling wheels off the ground left, right and centre is not stable haha.

hey mate i have 2" and 2" lift in my dual cab on 32s.has been that way for years but now that ive gone lower diff gears ill be going 33s or maybe 35s
I find mine to be pretty stable, doesnt tip like my old sierra did my main problem im trying to beat is super stiff OME rear springs making it bounce and lift wheels. The length does help them but it is a pretty high truck so just have to ask yourself if it is worth the extra height and why you want the extra height? What tyres are you trying to clear etc?
cheers,appsie

sierra truggy,37 sticky treps,propane,6.5s and disconnect,lux diffs with spools,16" fox shox,hydro steer.
Mine doesnt lift wheels everywhere, normally wont lift wheels at all.berad wrote:2inch body lift, std springs and 35's, so you've given it effectively 5inchs of lift with stiff springs and its stable?.

In fact my springs that came on the ute way back in 1986 probably have softened qutie a bit in that time, they are in great condition for their age.
And yes, it feels very stable on/off road, the only places I take extra care is on wet roads, and thats due more to mud tyres not being the best in those conditions.
I know its not a big lift, its only a body lift, but it feels good.

Yeah its a 3 wheel drive!!!! dam IFS. Coils are on there way so soon to be fixed
So your leaf packs are 24 years old and rolled straight off the toyota showroom......., i highly doubt that.....mine doesn't lift wheels driving over gutters either , haha jokes (i'm a self proclaimed webwheeler on friday nights)
Standard shocks will limit the truck more than the springs, although the springs aren't to much better, we can't be on the same level as far as what i call an offroad track as far pulling wheels with standard hilux suspension....
when that photo was taken my suspension was sponsored by "brick" articulation.
thats standard suspension with longer shocks........, and if that isn't pulling a wheel i dont know what is.
Mine has next to no lift, flat leaf packs front and rear, only life is from the shackles, and the most "stabalising mod as far as im concerned is flipped rims, gaining close to 6inchs in track width is a big massive difference....
