BBundy - I bet when the US marines came up with their motto "improvise, adapt and overcome, they never in their wildest dreams thought they'd be faced with the situation of no sauce or vegemite for a whole weekend.
What are they going to say when they get their sunnies and reading glasses confiscated?

I'm sure you all think you're very witty, but if you had been there last year for the cleanup monday and had to pick up what our team had to pick up, I don't think you would be all so "funny" now

Guys , I'm asking nicely - cut out the smart ass remarks and instead maybe support what we are trying to achieve here. This event is for everyone and for everyone to enjoy, therefore if everyone follows the rules of entry, behave like adults should and generally enjoyed the spectatcle that is Tuff Truck, then EVERYONE will enjoy the event (including the organisers).

Jo

Jo,
What you say is true, I do believe i am "very witty" BUT
My Sarcasm was aimed at all the whingeing about NO glass means NO sauce, alcohol, vegemite or fun and the sunnies remark was to emphasize how rediculous and extreme there whingeing is.
NO GLASS MEANS NO GLASS, not hard

Update for Alcohol Restrictions

Alcohol Restrictions Apply: For spectators entering the site on Friday, Maximum of 2 cases of Beer or Mixed Spirits per adult is allowed. If your entering the site on Saturday from 1am, Only 1 case per adult is allowed. Remember to be sensible about the amount you bring as it will be confiscated at the gate & not returned. We reserve the right to refuse entry of any person wishing to abuse these restrictions. Don't get any smart ideas thinking that you will be allowed to exit the grounds to return with more alcohol, we will have security on the exit gate monitoring all vehicle movements.

This is from Tuff Truck website - so as promised, any updates will appear here as well. ;)

The comp should be kicking off at around 3pm with the first stage being Engineering / Show N Shine.

The event usually finishes up around 4-5pm Sunday with presentation of winners to kick off shortly after.

The firewood seems at bit much. So you have to buy it and if it sells out too bad? Bit rough for the ones that turn up later or will sales be limited per person on that?

Thats Rick posting that and as far as i know Rick works for 4wd action not Tuff Events. It says nothing about firewood in the conditions of entry as posted by Pete(Tuff Events) aka the owner of Tuff Truck. So im going to take a slightly educated guess that there is no such rule against it.

With the alcohol limits....

What if our drink choice is only a 30 pack? Will we be allowed to take 2 of them? Or do we have to drink 12 of them before we get through the gate :)

cheers

The ruling about camera's are:

© Tuff Events and Promotionsv Australia P/L
The copyright of the name “Tuff Truck Challenge”, the “Truck” & “Tuff Truck Challenge” logos and all images of the Tuff Truck Challenge belongs to Tuff Events and Promotions (the Organiser)
Photographs and video footage (film, digital or other) taken may be used for personal purposes only
Publication in any commercial media or advertising material without the prior written permission of the Organiser is expressly prohibited

This is what that statement is referring to. Our copyright Rule, mainly the last point about commercial, or advertising, not about people's personal cameras. Just don't do any of the above and you will all be fine.

Jo

What constitutes an "illuminating object"? A torch illuminates. Are torches banned? The headlights on my car also illuminate. Some people like to use glow sticks to help keep track of their kids at night...they illuminate.

Clarification please?

PAULY
Pauly,

I think common sense here is the key. The rule/restriction specifically states

"For spectators entering the site on Friday, Maximum combined
total of 2 of the following , (24 can) Beer cases, Mixed Spirits cases or Spirits Bottles per adult is allowed ( Note all bottles must be transferred into plastic). If you’re entering the site on Saturday from 1am, only 1 of the above per adult is allowed.

So I would say.... and sweetly..... mate we are sorry but we have the restrictions in place for a reason, therefore you must adhere to the rules or don't come. Find a beveridge of choice that fits into the criteria or even consider having a dry weekend :D I'm sure that wouldn't harm a few of you :finger: :)

But seriously guys - we want to keep this awesome event going, so by helping us, you are keeping Tuff Truck going for YOU!!!!!! Be sensible, and follow the event rules and have a good time.

Regards,

Jo & Darren
