Hi all,
Am currently looking into this conversion, i am happy with the engine specs and power upgrades over the carby 3F, my only questions are if its gonna bolt into the same engine mounts and bolt up to the manual gearbox?
Also, will the a/c, p/s and heater lines be in roundabout the same positions? Wiring isnt an issue as i have a magician of an auto elec.

should be good. the 1fz power sttering pump is on the lower passenger side (gear driven) the air con is drivers side lower. alternator above the steering pump, and beneath the distributer
60 axles should handle it. they are probably stronger than 80 axles anyway.
I don't think you can mate the h55 to the 1fz which means getting a h150 or h151 box and transfer. try and get the part time transfer if you want to avoid wiring hassles with the full time centrediff lock. Measure the tunnel clearance as the h15x boxes are much larger. Drive shafts will probably end up different lengths too.
There will be many other little things no doubt like the high pressure pump in the tank the 1fz uses. you can probably use an aftermarket in line one there.
You might be best to look for a wrecked 80 to get everything for the transplant (do a coil conversion too!)

Thanks heaps for that guys. My thinking is, if im gonna have to modify brackets and the rest of it to fit another motor, might as well go for something with abit more mumbo.
I also have a mate running a 302 clevo with the original 60 series manual box and its holding up fine. So after seeing that rig im really keen to do a v8 conversion, i dont wanna go over the top though.
As far as v8 conversions go, which seems the best/easiest fit? Or does it not really matter just a matter of choice?
About the coil conversion, i was thinking about it but wanna fly the flag for all the leaf sprung 4b's out there!
