hilux v6 vp sudden stop wont start PLEASE HELP
my delux aint so delux after all Grrrr traveling along the highway 80 km i got a slight shunt and she stalled, holds compression has battery power and turns but no fire i had het towd home and looked further to discover there is no spark checkd 2 leads from diffrent coils sill nothing can anyone help me even if its a quick fix i need to get to work tomorrow ahhhhh
i Know its late but check these things anyway
=check the wiring into the back of the coil pack
=i'm assuming you have checked the fuel pressure if not check that
=check the efi relay (i.e. swap it with another to see if it has shi# itself)
=early modle vn motors sometimes pack up all coils packs when they die.
if your tgon is were my tgon is i have a spare you can borrow!
=check the wiring into the ecu, make sure its all connected
hope this helps

I'm assuming it's a VP commodore v6 going by the title.Matt_85Lux wrote:what type of v6 is it?
As said, could be coils but they do usually go one at a time so you would have got a decent missfire as a warning before the rest packed it in. Still very possible that all 3 have died though. I would be looking at the ignition module underneath the coils, very common for them to die.
i had similar problems with my vn comode, you will find you will probly be able to start it the ext day but it will play up. check the plug into the dfi module for starters thats what your coil pack sits on. if there is no visible problem it might be the dfi module like with mine, take the coils of and there will be like melted shit every where not sure how to test it but there cheap at a wrecking yard
IF IN DOUBT GO FLAT OUT
i thought this but usually when they start to play up the engine will restart once it has cooled down or if you pour cool water over the CAS.SIMMO84 wrote:Crank angle sensor, behind teh harmonic balancer.

check pms
check if you have no spark to injecter, test with a test light it should light up or blink very fast if this doesn't happen it means that there is no signal from the crank angle sensor, you need the pulse to send a signal to the module to give it spark to the coils , 9 times out of 10 it is the crank angle senser, or check wires into your module under coil pack.it doesn't matter if you put water on crank angle senser or not, you where lucky for it to work the time it did.v6delux wrote:checked fuel pressure changed pdi moduel and CAS coils aswell i am going to reemove car alarm aswell see if i can iliminate imobilisation any one else got any idears this is doing me head in
