Can anyone give me an idea as to what front brakes i can fit to a sierra to improve braking quality.
I will be leaving the std diff and swivel hubs.
I have heard that the vitara have vented rotors in the later models and V6 etc. I am interested in this and can buy the rotors at a good price new, but the calipers are a problem. can anyone advise if:
A: the rotors fit on easily.
B: if any other caliper from any other vehicle will fit on the hubs or must I use the genuine suzuki ones.
C: if anyone has calipers that will fit at a good price.

What front brakes???
Yep, thanks to all for the info.
I bought the calipers yesterday from suzisport in Sevenhills for $75ea.
I am getting the rotors tomorrow - brand spankers for $55ea.
Pads for somewhere around $25 set.
I will be moving the front rotors to the back to do a rear disk kit now.
When i find out what calipers to use other that sierra fronts i will let all know. - I want a handbrake on the caliper rather than going backwards and having a transmission brake.

Subaru (fronts?) I am concerned that there would be too much brake friction for them and they would cause rear wheel lock-up.
crx rears - Are they up to the job, considering that they are from such a small car. i will be running 35s and need it to stop hence the better fronts.
If they would do the trick, do i use the sierra caliper slides, or all honda parts.

If you use Soobie Leone front calipers you get the park brake. Get the cables at the same time. Fit a nineties Soobie Master cyl. and a proportioning valve. The MC seems to help with the brake Bias and a prop valve will allow you to set your bias also. I am going to Vit vented fronts for more bite all round. I am only on 31's so you will need all the brakes you can get

I didn't think it was legal to use an adjustable prop. valve, except in the case of a utility where the valve adjustment is determined by the ride height (or weight over the rear axle).

I have a willwood prop valve and it was certified at the same time as the rest of my zook.
But to be honest if you put it in the rear line from the MC and tuck it away under all the clutter there, It will probably stay a secret.
I also have line lockers fitted, one to each front brake. Great on nasty hills, and double as steering (fiddle ?) brakes.
These were certified too.
My rear brakes only lock up at the last moment on gravel now. But my front discs are pretty thin. Hence the Vitara swap.
