New D40 Navara stuck in Low range

Post by Jimbo »

Driving on site yesterday and needed 4wd low. Went in fine but now wont come out.
The green 4wd (error) light now comes on around 5 seconds after starting the car.

Any ideas before i drive it 50km on sealed roads back to town??

Jimmy

PS: We have had 2 navaras (D22 and D40) on site in the last 5 weeks and they have now both had problems and both under 25000km.

Got under and had a look. There is a little electric motor that must engage low range on the transfer.....well the housing is plastic and is now smashed.

Why would u put all these fancy electrics in a place where it can get smashed and has no protection???

check the rear ABS line that runs along the diff
if it has been hit by a rock it can break the line and that can affect the 4wd system
