Let there be light.
I have solved the problem of having no light while HID Hi Beams warm up when the Halogen low beams turn off. (One of our HID Kits).
With the help of PEEL Electronics we now have a customised time delay control (can dial in how long you want it to be) and it is controlled by the high beam.
When you flick from low beam to Hi beam the relay gets a signal from the high beam turning on to turn the low beam back on again for a designated time. Since the low doesn't turn off until after the high is already on the low beam is back on before it even went off so they simply appear to stay on.
The benefit of this kit now is that you can have halogen low beam and not annoy oncoming drivers and let's face it - do we really want Mr Plod to pull us up for bright low beams only to then get pinged for 35" tyres, etc. And when we flick to hi beam you have awesome HID headlights and now there is light while the HID's warm up.
I had to tell people.

The great thing about the 80 series is you have 2 sets of lights.nicbeer wrote:Is there a price for these kits? Will the kit work for all HID kits which have a high and low?
as i am looking at HID highs in the 80 series.
Yes you could use this stuff in the 80 but you dont need to.
Re the inners - if you want them to be just HID Hi beam lights then we can do a H3 4"x6" Spot Light insert (better than rally 4000) with HID for $245
Now with the outers Hi and Low - H4 Globe Joffers. You can either leave them in Halogen with say 100/130W globes (need better wiring for 130W) and we can do these globes for $15 pr. These are pretty bright. Or you can upgrade to a prismatic (crystal) 4"x6" spread beam H4 insert with LED parker ring for an extra $89.50. You can also run HID Hi/Lo in the outers and if you get the shifting style the globe stays on so there is no warm up period. We can do the "no loom" HID Hi/Lo for about $195 set.
Hope this helps.
