gq rear diff noise

hey guys i know without hearing it, hard to say wat it is but just after some theorys cheers rear diff has started making a sought of grinding noise but only at one part of the revolution of the tyres. The trusty screwdriver is telling me the noise is coming out of the centre area! pinion, crown wheel?

sounds like your missing crownwheel teeth.

If thats the case, the pinion will also be wrecked.

stuffed diff bearings? lsd or open?

mine is making a similar noise but only on the highway round 100kms & it also shudders round corners when taking off from stop sign or lights, i suspect my lsd is shagged
had the centre out all looked ok ie no broken teeth or excessive wear on gears turns ok by hand!
An ounce of precaution is better than a ton of cure!

mine is lsd but makes noise all the time i think z()ltan is right diff is shagged i was just hoping that it might have been something else looks like im up for $400 or so for a second handy or does anyone no wat a rebuild is worth roughly in the bris area cheers
