78 series body parts on 75 series

Post by erez »

Hi guys,

I can get some body parts from a LC 78 or 76 - I haven't seen the donor car yet but in any case it is a 2008 model.

I have a 1998 75 series troopy. Has anyone here ever tried to use 78/76 parts on a 75 ? My troopy's body is in very bad condition, and used body parts here are scarce and expensive.

The body parts I can get are:

1. 2 front doors
2. front side panels (wings) - the outer and inner shell
3. engine hood

Thanks,

erez

I saw the donor car today. It's a LC 79 series, with a 4.2 diesel engine (1HZ ?). The doors appear to be 1:1, the wings and bonnet hood look different but might still fit - it has all the parts, starting from the windshield - panels, side panels, front panels, including the grill, the inside of the grill and original Toyota snorkel. Any ideas on how I can make these fit my troopy ?

Thanks,

Erez
