lots of light issues

Post by alex.tas »

Hi
I had some issues with by f75 85 rocky, the rear tail lights didn't work, but the brake lights did. After playing around with it, they both worked for a while. dont know what i changed, but it was all good. Now though the brake lights dont work, but the tail lights do. its frustrating.

Also, two of the dash lights dont work , the battery volt meter and something else i cant remember. but the inclomiter which is next to it works fine. Also the interior lights - the ones that turn on when you open a door, dont work.

The horn also doesn't work. I've checked the fuses and bulbs.

So Im thinking of taking it to an auto electrician, how much would i be looking at to get a full check, and possible replacement of bits needed?

Cheers

I would be checking your earths.

Do you have one from your battery to chassis??
if so, take it off and clean it to make sure you have a good earth.
When you get wierd voltages making different lights work, and not work, its most likely a bad earth, the resisitance is too high, and electrickery being lazy takes the next path of least resisitance, usually another wire somewhere.
