60 80 diff ratio's diffrence? Swaping 60 bodies

Post by 12ht »

G'day im thinking about puting 80 axles under my hj60. I atm have a airlocker in my rear diff that i want to put in the 80 housing but have been told they have diffrent ratios.

Then i want to swap bodies cause i can get a nice white body how do you do it dent free in 1bit? Mine is red and dinted rusty.
Thanks

Have you got the hole diff assembles or just the axles???
Ratio's are different between differnt engines, manual and auto. So you will have to check this out. As for replacing the front diff from a 60 to an 80 you will get the extra width but you will lose the strength in the diff centre as they are much smaller.
Rear 60 diff willl fit in the rear 80 housing YES.
If they are different ratios and still wanting to fit the 80 diffs than just fit the locker in the 80 rear diff.
Hell Raiser 4 seat social buggy..

Yeah nah i want the whole axle housings. Reason for that is ror extra track width. but i would prefer a 60 front diff tho.
