Would these coils work on a SWB to provide 2-3inch lift ???

Post by NJPAJ »

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone knows if the following coils will work on my SWB MAV to provide a 2.5 to 3 Inch lift.

I've got a custom tube winch bar with winch and dual battery system up front and a 35inch muddy hanging off the back.

Dobinson Springs

FRONT: C45-108
REAR: C45-129

If these would work, what shocks should be used.

Cheers,
Daniel

They will give you about 4- 4.5 inch lift in a swb, but ride like you have leaf springs. My mate had wagon 2 inch lift springs in his SWB which gave it about 3.5 inch lift. Man it was a worse ride than my cruiser. He yanked em out and put SWB 2 inch lifted springs in, not as high but it rides heaps better and flexes up real good with the 6 inch longer shocks and coil retainers.

Not sure on your shock choice but the dobinsons website has all that information.

Are you sure ?

I would have thought that the front springs would be the same for both LWB and SWB ?

Sure as , the ones that went in were roughly 3/4 the thickness front and rear, I know, I just looked at em when I was under there an hour ago checkin out his spring retainers

Stick em in if you want, they fit and it won't hurt anything, it's just harder ride.

Tho the front springs are listed the same on the site????.
Don't take life too seriously...it isn't permanent.
