Gu tb45 power upgrade?
Gu tb45 power upgrade?
I have a gu patrol with 4500 petrol motor. With 2.5'' exhaust and extractors. I have herd from some one that i can increase my performance by taking out the original injectors and replacing them with r32 skyline injectors as they have more cc capacity? Is this true ? Do i need to replace the injection rail as well ? Is there any other budget power up grades?

This is rubbish. If the injector size differs from stock then the fuel mixture will be off, the factory ecu does not know that the injectors are bigger and it will feed the same duty cycle and be very rich. You fit larger injectors when you make mechanical changes to the engine that mean it makes motre power than the stock injector can supply. You want to fit a chip/tune the ecu to optimize what you have.

what they say is correct. Your current injectors are not reaching 100% duty cycle anyway so you certainly dont need bigger ones. A decent after market ecu/loom/tune will set you back 2K plus dyno time for very little gain. If you go this route youd atleast want higher comp and suitable cam to get your monies worth.
Totaly not worthwhile in my opinion. There are no cheap options unfortunately, your free flowing exhaust is probly the best value power up you can get.

You can optimize timing for premium on the dyno as the distributor is still adjustable. This can realise some improvement but you will have to continue to use premium. Greater benefits come from fitting a chip, we have a wire in type that allows fuel and ignition timing changes and duel mapping so you can at the flick of a switch go back to low octane fuel.
