replacing original GQ TB-42 alt with EB-ED ford alt.

Post by BLUE MQ »

Hi all, I have an 1990 GQ TB-42, having alt problems, wanting to know if I can change it to an EB-ED falcon 80 amp alt, mounting is not a worry butt need to know how to wire it up. Any help with this would be great. Need to know wiring, what wire to what plug if it can be used or not, as I have a couple of falcon alts in my shed.
With thanks Jeff.

Yes the alt that I have is a bosch 85 amp alt, I pulled it off an ED, but it must have been changed, but it is deffinatly a bosch 85 amp, so if somone could please advise me on the wiring conversion it would be a very big help, as original alt just dose'nt do the job properly at night. Running twin falcon thermo fans(second fan only when needed), main h/lights + driving lights, also heat/ cooling fan, also stereo system. so need to change alt ASAP. Thanks.
