Im lookin at purchasing one of these 2.8Lturbo diesel GUs. Have heard good and bad points any info?? Comparing to 3L. Whats a better engine to have? I plan on chipping, exhaust, snorkel and k&n. Please any info to help my purchase. Cheers

they crack heads.

but you saw that when you searched and saw the other 100 threads asking that.

they dont all crack heads, and go good if you even did the mods you say you wanna do. I believe they run cooler with a big exhaust and good tune, hence lessening any chance of a cracked head.

and keep tensioning the harmonic balancer, they hate being on the motor and when they come off the rip chunks of the crank off with it and the only way to fix without buying a new crank is, araldite or weld, been done 2 times, still going strong with the weld, but the araldite last only 40,000kays

its not worth the hassle i believe, just go all out on a 4.2diesel, if you can find a wagon one that is, oh and stay clear of the 3l, i heard somewhere along the line,not sure if its true, but you put a turbo from a 3l navara instead of the stock vv one
