Gq floor pan help
Gq floor pan help
Hey all,
I am replacing my floor pan due to exessive rust problems,
I have looked at crash supplies, but cannot find parts aftermarket. (would anyone else know where i could source on from???)
Spoke to my local nissan dealer they dont stock the floor pan for a ute, but they do for a wagon (ex Japan).and pricey $1030.00 Problem is there are three (3) variants in floor pans.
I have 3 numbers here:
74300-06j30
74300-0y000
74300-32j30
no i am assuming that the cars would have an "updated floor pan" as years went on. could these part numbers be assosiated with build dates?????
Mine is a 92 bubble back ute. I wouldnt assume they would have changed it too much as all bolt holes line up from 88-97 i suppose i could "massage" it into place. but in regards to seat position ect. i am changing it to a 2 seater too, so i dont mind if it comes with single passenger seat base.
Just thought id throw it out there incase some one could share some light.
or .......maybe someone could supply me with a Vin number of a 92 wagon in a PM so i can get that floor pan from that,Pictures would work too, as i have looked at the few but cannot really see ....Or if someone is doing a chop or has carpets up i could come round and have a look-see.
Cheers
Duane

they do come up from time to time reasonably priced, especially if you dont need things like panels to be in good nic.
but you could put a later cab on even gu as they bolt striaght on afaik.

damn too far away to take advantage of gratuitious booty
double check but i believe they do. however a gu cab will cost more than a gu cab, but look the shizz as well.

is there really a difference between floors ???
if its only floor rust, thats alot easier to fix than swapping cabs , doin chops ect ect
wow if its only 2nd hand floors your after
have u rang a coupla wreckers ???
can pick up dead/bent/buckled gq wagons anywhere from a coupla hundred
one just sold (in brissie) just a cab (wagon)no chassis for $150
was for sale for $500 for along time
im sure (correct me if wrong here)
but the wagons, ute, shorty front pans are all the same

well this i am not sure of,
I was looking into it, i know there are 3 varients tho all different part numbers????
It has rust in other places too like above thewindscreen behind the brace and right up in sill panels,
So sourcing a "good" body might be worth doing i think.
Man thos GU cab/body's arnt cheap rang a few more places, all want upwards of $3250.00
Cheers

i suppose it boils down to wat can u do yourself ???
do u have to pay someone to do the repairs ???
ute cabs of any make or model with minimal rust comand big $$$$
maybe look at the car auctions , sometimes stuff goes cheap
put a coupla pics up of the rust , maybe someone on this forum near u could help u out

you would be surprised wat the engineers like
it would be better to repair and show the repairs
rather than chuck a heap of blackjack/body deadener and hope for the best
the extra cab conversion im doin has all the fotos from start to finish
including floor repairs to show its a good job
(whether they require it or not, atleast i know its rite)

A speed camera would have prevented that!
It's a grouse feeling when you lift the carpet and find coins . Well done mate.Dabbott wrote:It's not the worst but..........
I am going to engineer this onto a Gq wagon chassis, so i dont think a lot of cuts and welds will impress the engineer.
