Jumping in here bogged

No, but there are some slight but important differences on the TD42 GU box.
First of all they dont have the PTO option.
Then the gear selector housing and both shifters are about 50mm further back on the box than GQ boxes, with a different linkage design on the GU transfer shifter.
Theres a slight casting difference inside the GU T/case as well which only really matters when fitting reduction gears.
The speedo pick up on the box is different to GQ
The GU box has a neutral position switch (for the transfer) too hence two more wires off it.
The nylon fulcrum bush on the bottom of the GU gearstick is a smaller O/D than the GQ bush but both will fit on both gearsticks.

Other than that I dont think there's anything else but I have put a GU box in my GQ. Just had to modify the shifter cover and transfer lever so the shifters had room to move.
I didn't get a gearstick with the GU box so I just bought the smaller bush from Nissan, put it on the GQ stick and in she went. The rest of the fitting is the same.
