Hey guys
About to fit a 60mm body lift to my LN106 hilux just wondering whats involved.
I know you have to drop your radiator the same as you go up.
and undo the stearing yoke the tighten back up when in.
Is there any other modifications I need to make? like transfer case stuff? etc etc
Or does anyone have any tips to make the process not turn into a shit fight?

hilux body lift questions and tips

Done a couple of surfs years ago, not a big deal. Heaps easier if you have a 2 post hoist handy to lift the body up evenly with. Rad drop brackets and take the slack off the steering intermediate shaft as you mentioned. You might need to bend the transfer shifter or clearance the tunnel opening to suit if it fowls. Also depending on where your fuel filler pipe is mounted you might have to undo that too. Look at the handbrake cable bracket too. Don't forget you'll have to modify your bullbar/front bumper mounts too or you'll have a nice gap. That's about all I can recall. One of the hilux blokes will probably have more advice.
Like Simmo said, you shouldnt need to move the rad at all, just trim the fan shroud.
With the gearsticks, once the bodylift is in, check both sticks into every gear/hi-lo range, and trim away where necessary.
Your metal brake and clutch lines will need to be unwound(you can unwind them from near the fluid resovoirs, just be gentle with them).
You might need a longer fuel filler hose though.
You wont need a hoist, me and a mate did mine in a couple of hours, with a trolley jack, and some big blocks of timber, just undo and remove all the bolts, jack up the front, blocks and bolts in, then do the back, then the middle ones.
Just go slow and check/double/triple check everything as you go. Its a pretty easy thing to do.
