I have cut the treadplate deck templates out of customwood and fitted, so shld cut the alloy plate this week all going good.

Tread plate all cut for the deck and side skirts, fitted and bolt holes drilled.
Next step remove the tray and cage, drop off to the powder coater. Then we start on the cab, sand, fill & fair....then paint.

I got a 3.0 V6 24V and I was wondering if you could give me a tip how to fit a front ARB locker, since ARB does not specifically offer one for my front axle, or better said: none available, as they say.
How did you manage to get it installed?

Mine is a 3.5 manual, so ARB makes both front and rear lockers for.
I assume you must therefore have the Gen II 3.0 automatic if you say ARB doesn't have a locker for it. If so then thats right, the automatic 3.0 has a smaller diff (7.5") than the manual 3.0 (8") for which there is a locker for.

Its taken a while, but with great help from some great mates the cab is ready for painting.....
With the tray removed and sent off for sand blasting and powder coating, we could then sand down the welds, panel beat the bigger dents, seam seal on some of the joins and then bog applied liberaly over the rest.
Then multiple coats os primer/filler and lots of sanding down it now ready for the final coat of colour & clear.

The cage & tray has come back from the powder coaters..... looks great.

Colour and clear coats are now done. We put a chipcoat seal onto the rear wall to help stiffen it up and deaden the noise, then painted over that. The roof inside the cab has sound deading panels on it, with the same chipcoat seal sprayed over that, again to stiffen it and cut down the noise.
Makes the rest of the truck look pretty shabby, might have to give the rest a cut and polish next
Trucks back home now, I can start on the cab sound proofing and lining this weekend. New windscreen to go in next week and replace the rear window.

Have it almost all back together now.....
still got to do the Snorkel, out of stainless pipe, then mount the toolbox on the back, and get the lining back into the cab.

Looks great Charles.
Next time your putting up some pic;s can you get one of the mods you did to the ARB bar to suit the body lift? I have got a bar with a hi mount in it, just working out the most suitable way to do it. I need to do some bracing to the rear after I moved it all with hard winching!

We didn't mod the bar, but lifted the mount point with a spacer welded on top of the chassis rail, and braced back with some angle (as per the photo)
I suspect the side bars also provide some support to the bar.

Hi Glen, looking realy good. I bet ya can't wait to take her for a spin hey, all I can say is take it easy cause it'll handle way different. Theress more weight over the front wheels, (and trust me) a lot less over the rear, your gunna love doing hill climbs, but take a little more caution comming down, it'll pick up the back wheels quicker.Kiwijero wrote:Have it almost all back together now.....

I got my first comp in this truck in 2 weeks, I can,t wait. I got a new set of 35" silverstone Extremes yesterday so I'm gunna take them for a run over the weekend.

And the other thing is, you will have to put another set of Window Squirties on the bonnet cause the original ones are gunna hit the lower bar going across your window. All I did was get a 2nd set of squirties and extra hose and drilled 2 new holes in the bonnet, about 380mm from the original ones. Love what you have done to the pajero. You should look at getting some of the silver door mould and continue it to the end of the cab. I know it is not important but would make the job look completely finished.

The truck passed its certification. Took some work, mainly around the brakes. In the end we had to mount a remote brake booster to get enough clamping pressure to the front calipers to pull it up fast enough (the rear wheels were initially locking up at 80 k/ph which was exciting to say the least).
Stainless snorkel is now built and mounted, tho we may have re-visit this, as the bend where it goes up the cage extends out too far and takes any impacts on bank instead fof the cage (experience talking) and is pushing the guard in at its mount point.
I have the plastic mouldings cut, shaped and welded up for the cab corners, just need time to finish off and paint and then mount. Still some lining in the cab to finish off also.
Next big job is to mount rear batteries and wire up front and rear winches. This will allow me to change the front battery back to just engine starting and aux power, and give me two batteries for the front and rear winches.

very cool charles. im still yet to get mine down to my flat and have another go at her. but i went and lifted up the tarp the other day. still there. so m getting closer. hopefully this weekend ill bring it down.
