GQ LWB rear quarter panel chop in Sydney

Post by JBE »

I know, it’s not rocket science, but I can’t find a decent panel beater in my area (Eastern Suburbs) to do the rear quarter panel chop on my GQ LWB. The panel beaters here only seem to be interested in insurance jobs.

Can anyone recommend a panel beater in Sydney or is anyone interested in doing the chop for cash as I don’t have the tools to do it? I just need to get the metal work done (cut, fold & weld blanking plate in).

Cheers

Joachim

if your going to get a pannel beater to do it , get them to cut it and Weld an infill back in . looks better and you dont have to silicone around were most people pop rivet them back in .
And if you cant find someone , suck it up and hav a go  , you can do it nice a dodgy in a couple of hours an angle grinder , plyers, drill , rivets and silicone , you could buy a cheap 4" grinder and drill for less that a Pannel beater will charge .

did mine a couple of weeks back they look ok would look better if the quarters weren't stuffed to being with, took me about 5 hours, But yer i have all the took and am a panel beater so it does help :D :finger:

Look for a small panel shop their more likely to do a cashie then bigger ones and most of the time do a better job
