Tuff Truck 2010 Pre-Paid Ticket Holders feedback
Hi All
Please give me some feedback as to what you all thought of the entry process this year.
How did you like the early opening for pre-paid only?
Was it any better than 2009?
& any other feedback regarding Pre-Paid Entry would be great.
Regards
Pete Antunac

The line did move much quicker than I expected, we camped down the road and hit the gates around 9ish and were in in good time considering the numbers..
Showers were great but possibly the toilets could be cleaned a little more regularly, im sure people arnt that dirty at home!!
As for security, we did camp in the feral camping, but we didnt expect to have people "crapping" around our tents along with the obscenities and drugged up behavior until well after sunrise.. Security were reluctant to do anything but a number of surrounding campsites managed to convince these ferals that the best thing would be for them to leave which they did...
Besides that small inconvenience, the whole event was the best of 4 that i have attended. Recoveries were quickest ever, tracks were awesome and the overall running of the event was tops!
Congrats pete and team!! Cant wait for next year!!

I came in later on Friday with no problems at all. The security weren't nazi's about the glass that we had as we had travelled from QLD and had a few jars and bottles. This was a much better organized event than last year and is a real credit to you Pete. Had no problems taking the family along and will be back next year and organizing our trip as soon as you give us all the dates.
This year was a big challenge for ya Pete and a huge well done to you, your helpers and volunteers. Getting in was a breeze and good start to the weekend. With a task this large i can only think of a few issues that is a little hard to police. Toilets, some people need to think about others and remember that kids will most likely use the toilet after them. I like many others like a drink, but i would like to think that we know our limits and can handle ourselves as well as behaving in company of people that are there to see the Trucks and to have a good time and do not deserve nor appreciate drunken behaviour, not to mention kids being present. This was promoted as a family event. And one other would be the down time and delay between cars. Trying to organize this kind of event has its ups and downs and its uncontrolled and unforeseen circumstances. Maybe the drivers need to be briefed before hand or have someone doing the cars one after another. This delay may contribute to the unwanted drunken behaviour but at worst case we don't want too see alcohol baned completely just evict the ones that cause the trouble, with no questions asked. We had a few young fellas that were going to throw a bottle of piss on us and when the police failed to do anything we were going to take matters into our own hands and they were escorted back to their camp , only for them to return 10 min later. Not really acceptable. The same group you sat in front of at the end of Sat night that was causing some trouble. All in all, Good work, well done and all the best for the future.
NO EXPECTATIONS, NO DISAPOINTMENTS
Got there just after lunch on friday after the trip down from Qld and drove straight threw pretty much no delays awsome.I'll buy them prepaid again for sure saved alot of hassle scrounging for money at the gate and forgetting you left it in the back of the bag in the ute.Thumbs up Pete for a top weekend mate hope theres many more to come.

Great efficiency through the gates this year!
While sitting in the line waiting for the gates to open, we were wondering why security werent checking cars already and making their way down the line before gates opened. We expected huge delays with security checking etc. This was not the case however. But maybe something to think about next year.
The other thing that i thought was odd. When the ticket guys and girls came down the line to collect the prepaid passes, they then had to back to the front, collect armbands and come back to us. While this wasnt a delay (it was operating faster than the gates were) why cant those ticket people have armbands on them and exchange the pass for an armband at the vehicle there and then?
Recoveries were great with the manitous. However, where they cant get access to, maybe a larger excavator is on the cards for next year. i have no doubt some of the recoveries were exceeding their limits. I do realise though that its another expense. A thought i would like to see considered.
The travel ramp by the mud was good. I didnt get a chance to see any last year because the track action is more exciting. being by the mud gave a great intermediate to the mud. Sitting on the high side of the hill I would have liked to have seen the ramp turned 90 degrees for a better view. I dont know how much that would impact other views from around the track though.
I thought the mud was great this year. the first night seemed to be a repeat of last year. but a good mix got through on sat night which helped even it out. Using this year as an example, maybe the last mud run could be progressively harder rather than dropping straight off the mound with little momentum.
As I said in another post, top effort this year Pete. I dont know if there is much you can improve on, but im sure you will make it bigger and better every year. Like an event is supposed to!
cheers

Worked Great for us ,Payed for tickets early ,tickets arrived about a fortnight before the event. We hit the gates around 1pm friday .
Guys on the gate were excellent .
Enjoyed TT10 ,I'm Sure there was less fools .
My opinion on the police, I think its great there there, they can actually get an insight in to the sport and an understanding of why our cars get modified in certian ways.
I found it easyer to find a spot to see the events this year , maybe due to the slight difference in attendence , was good for me and the wife shes about as tall as you if shes standing on my shoulders
The mud event , Going to send an email in the other thread .
Awsome weekend,
and a big Thanks to You and all you Helpers and the competitors and the police for a great weekend.

Pete,
Worked well mate.
We were in and already setup camp making breakfast by 10am.
I was a fan of the style of tickets used, much more proffessional then the business card types from last year.
The extra security was welcomed in my opinion, being an ex - competitor i know why its there and was happy to see it mainly for the guys competing this year.
Our tickets arrived well in advance and allowed us only a small wait in line which i thought was great.
good weekend over all.

all was great but the manitou`s need better access to the heartbreak ridge , jawbreaker and rockgarden. they were really struggling on the heartbreak ridge, as most people were getting stuck in the same spot and the recoveries up there took quite a while. grade a better access road for them on these difficult areas and will be much better.
would also be great if the drivers were briefed whilst the competitor before was competing, so when they have finished the following driver can start straight away.
all the best for next year....Lukey

Goddess of Self Esteem Issues!
My two cents - as always.
1) hour and half to get throught the gate. Not bad, but was pretty annoyed that some cars did the right thing and joined the queue on the side road. A lot of vehicles were waved straight in however, which I think is what caused the line on the side road to move so slowly. At first we thought they may have been officials or had pit passes, but there were too many of them. Was there a reason for this?
2) Not a critisim, more of a question - Why were three tickets sent out for two people? (Two entry tickets and one shower pass purchased) Wouldn't it be cheaper to just send out one entry ticket and one combined shower/entry ticket?
3) Checking of esky's etc - Was great for us, the bloke asked us what alcohol we had, told him what we had and he believed us. Our esky is pretty big and we could have hidden anything in the bottom (Not that we did). I understand it's not easy to check everything, but if people see it as being "easy" to smuggle things in, they will.
4) Do us a favour and turn the heat down next year, eh?
