To the Site Staff of Tuff Truck 2010

Post by JOZOOK »

To All the Site Staff of Tuff Truck 2010,

I just want to highlight to all who attended this years Tuff Truck, the amazing efforts of all the people who worked behind the scenes at this years event.

This event's success rides on 3 things:
1. The Competitors who come and test theirs and their car's mettle on some of the tuffest tracks Australia has to offer. Also to give to the crowd as a whole. a spectacle seen no where else.
2. The Spectators - the die hard and newbie fans who come and cheer on all the teams and support all who compete in Tuff Truck, and ultimately make what is the unique atmosphere of this incredible event.
And then there is number 3. The Site Staff - these are the people behind the scenes. Basically without this group, 1 & 2 would not happen. Yes, there is the 5 of us who organise and run the event, but the event itself would not run so smoothly or efficiently if not for the Site Staff we have to back us. They go about the event, largely unnoticed, due mostly to their efficiency, doing all the necessary jobs (dirty as some of them are) to ensure a hassle-free, efficient and clean running event. These people range from Site Coordinators through to the 4wd club volunteers and local school's P&C group. Their jobs included rubbish bin clearing 24hr/day, refuelling generators used around the event site, fixing fences where some thought it would be a funny thing to do - believe me its not, delivering meals and water to all across the event, fixing water supply issue (again someone tampering with things thinking what a great joke it would be to switch of main water supply), cleaning up rubbish after mud event both nights, guiding everyone coming into the site to their respective desired camping areas, answering any questions should they be asked and all other host of jobs that arose during the course of the weekend. Also another big Thank You goes to the wonderful people who gave up so much of their precious time to work on Front Entry Gate. You all did a wonderful job ensuring everything was done correctly and efficiently.

There is so much that goes into making this event a success and without these people, we the organisers would be left in a bad way. Please join me in a big heartfelt Thanks and my utmost appreciation and gratitude to all the following people:
Site Coordinators - Cameron Richardson and David Moore
Equipment Officer - Michael McAuliffe
Site Staff - Noreen Reeves (4wd Club Helpers Supervisor), Tony Reeves, John & Lillian Bullard, Darren Eldridge, Stuart Arndell, Grant Vella, Richard Platt, Jason Brown & Gordon Halnan
4WD Club Helpers - from Sydney Districts - Glenn Evans, Kamikaze - Shannon Piggin, Jason Borg, Mark Borg, John Panetta, Mark Panetta, Ben Chisholm & Nigel Whitely, Maitland Districts - Jeff and Heather Taylor, Harrison Grimace, Raymond Terrace - Ben Maclean, Northwest - Nick Pilgrim, David Bromley, David Seward, John Duffy, Liz Cousins and Darren Cousins, BBM - Michael Waddington and John Franks, All Aussie - Ros Bastow, Chris Bastow, Lorelei Oosterhoff, Blake Varnam & Keiran Wicks, TLCC - Jason Senior & Jeff Nupier.
Front Gate Staff - Amanda Vella, Ali Price, Kate Eldridge, Tony Antunac, Lyn Antunac, Bob & Lyn Lollback, Vern & Robyn Kite, Greg Page, Jay Marriot, Jackie Versace and Shauna Antunac
Milbrodale P&C - organisers - Fiona & Steve Lamb and their staff.

As you can see there is an army behind the scenes working away to ensure everyone's comfort and enjoyment of the event. Next year, please give these guys a hoy and a smile as most are working very long hours to see that the event keeps running smoothly.

Cheers Everyone,

Kindest Regards,

Jo McAuliffe

To Jo, Darren, Cameron, David, Michael and all the rest of the 'regular' site staff - thank you for being there and thank you for all the guidance and support you offered in my first year as support staff.

To Steve and Tony Price - you both lived up to your name - PRICELESS! In so many ways and on so many days.

To all the volunteers from the various 4WD Clubs who gave their precious time to do all the unseen and unclean jobs - a HUGE thank you!

And thanks to Pete Antunuc - without you there would have been no TTC2010.

and finally.....

To all who came to participate, to all who came to spectate, to all who came along 'just to see what it was like' - a big thanks to you all for being nice - it certainly made our job just that little bit easier to see smiling faces. And a MAJOR thanks to you all for generally cleaning up after yourselves.

ROLL ON TTC2011!
