up the fuel??

Post by DAVESGQ »

is there any power gains to be had by upping the fuel a touch after fitting a snorkel and extractors??
Soccer, Cricket and Footy all require 1 ball to play. My sport requires 2!!!!

It depends where your egts are now? Maybe fit a pyro and see what temp she's running first and go from there.

generally yes, but not a great deal. you can fiddle with the timing too. Get a pyro, and make sure you injectors are in good shape first.

if it has extractors then it doesn't have a turbo there for the EGT should be stone cold anyway compaired to turbo its pretty safe to turn the fuel up on non turbo however you won't make as big a differance as it would to a turbo but its still worth doing ..
you just want to make shore ur getting a fair power to fuel gain ie if u wind it in 1/4 turn u you would in a turbo get back simular power gain

hell no !
atmo's are worse for EGT's than turbo's.

fit a pyro/egt before adjusting fuel. odds are you won't get much more out of it. also with mechanical injection you have to watch that air flow in the cylinder will vary depending on rpm, more so when you have extractors and inlet mods. just watch you don't overfuel it at one particular rpm.

When i got my snorkel (ditched pre filter), extractors, 2.5" exhaust and lift pump fitted up

i wound it in twice and still doesnt blow any smoke, I got some really good gains, so much i dont even think a turbo is needed.

I reckon i got about 20-30% more power, much better!
